Hi Resident,
I have been seeing a few messages on social media in relation to Catalytic Converter theft, wondering if it was coming to our areas…….. and today a neighbour had theirs stolen!
This crime was popular 2 years ago when metal prices were high ( rhodium, palladium and platinum ), those prices are now rising again.
This means criminals are once again stealing CCs to make a quick buck.
How to protect yours? click HERE Quick tips: To reduce the risk of having your catalytic converter stolen you could Purchase anti-theft products such as Catloc - a Sold Secure approved product (find out more about Catloc's Secured by Design’s Police Preferred Specification here) Park to restrict access to the underneath of the car Ask your dealer to weld the catalytic converter to the car Fit a tilt alarm Register your converter and mark it with a forensic marker, which will make it harder for thieves to dispose of
